Steve Lammers is the President and founder of Advisory First, LLC in 2003.He has had extensive experience in Operations Excellence Asset Reliability Management.He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering where he was Team Captain of the Fencing Team, IEEE chairman and Russian club President.He overloaded courses in Russian and Nuclear Engineering.He also graduated from numerous Army leadership schools including, Airborne, Ranger, Sapper Leader, Air Assault, Battalion Maintenance Officer, CMMS equivalent training and NBC.He has been project manager for many projects for AF to include RCM, WMS, Work Flow Process and CMMS implementation for Colonial Pipeline, one of the largest oil and gas pipelines in the US.He has also worked closely with Koch Industries, the largest private company in North America with over $90 billion in annual sales and 80,000 employees.He has been project manager for projects with Koch to include CMMS configuration and implementation, Work Flow Process, ARM Assessments, Outage (Turn-around) management, MDA (Management of Daily Activities), planning and scheduling, Millwright Training, Advanced Warehouse Management System (ARM) and more.His work for Georgia-Pacific has been commented on as superior return on investment; these projects included many of the above mentioned projects.Steve also spearheaded a white paper for one of the largest T&D consortiums, PJM.This white paper showed how the T&D sector can self-regulate themselves as opposed to waiting and being inundated with Regulations from outside parties.He has completed training courses with several leading CMMS software providers.In the Army, Steve was stationed in Germany where he held various roles in maintenance in the Combat Engineering arm of the U.S. Army.Steve was early selected for Battalion Maintenance Officer of the 23rd Combat Engineering Battalion. In this role, he was responsible for the battalionfs maintenance and asset reliability programs.During his tour, he achieved some of the highest ratings at g92+% mission capableh with over 350 vehicles, 55+ maintenance technicians and a $1 million budget.His role included everything from turning the wrench, trending analysis, root cause analysis, re-design, direct maintenance craft management, craft productivity, CMMS equivalent operation and briefing as high as the General Staff level on overall performance and status.After the Army, Steve graduated and earned an MBA majoring in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.After receiving his MBA, Steve worked for a major life insurance company and managed a portfolio near $1 billion in investments. He also worked in venture capital out of the Trump Tower in New York for a major wireless company from Japan, Hikari Tsushin, where he was responsible for investment management of a portfolio near $1 billion. Steve was also an Investment Banker for a leading German investment bank, West LB, in Japan.Prior to founding Advisory First, LLC., Steve was the President, Part Owner and Chief Operating Officer of the largest wireless retail company in the U.S with over 3,500 employees in over 1,500 locations.Steve is fluent in German, traveled in over 25 countries, is a certified PADI Dive Master and a private pilot.He has also enjoyed activities such as running the bulls in Pamplona Spain, Parapenting and Bunji Jumping in New Zealand.
Len Lammers is the Chief Operating Officer and a Board Member of Advisory First, LLC, a company focused on providing total Asset Reliability Management (ARM) solutions. He has over 40 years of experience in operational maintenance management. He spent 27 years in the U.S. Navy as a Submarine officer and Engineering Duty officer, focusing on operations, maintenance and reliability of nuclear submarines. Lennis was Shipyard Commander of the U.S. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, a nuclear submarine overhaul and maintenance facility. He managed over 10,000 employees with an annual payroll of $240 million. Lennis retired as a navy captain and then joined the staff of a nuclear power generating plant for 7 years. As Plant Maintenance Director, he directed the design and implementation of a total maintenance program that played a major role in achieving a significant increase in asset reliability, resulting in a dramatic increase in Capacity Factor (generation of electricity) and profits. He has provided consulting services in Asset Reliability Management processes with numerous major companies in the following industries; aircraft manufacturing, nuclear and thermal power generation, chemical manufacturing, oil and gas, cement, pulp and paper, electrical sub-stations, automotive and the U.S. and Indonesian governments. Lennis is a graduate of the US Naval Academy. He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. in Ocean Engineering.
