Management-Of-Daily-Activities(MDATM)

Brief.  MDATM is AF’s unique approach to structuring an organization to optimize planning and scheduling and the productivity of the craft.  When performing an RCM program, usually there are many additional tasks that are recommended to improve the reliability of critical assets.  In many cases, the added tasks do not get done due to lack of resources and time.  In addition, most plants do not have the capital to hire additional craft.  After many plant benchmarking assessments, AF estimates that the average “Wrench Time” for craft in U.S. Industry is 2.8 hours in an 8 hour shift.  Wrench Time is defined as the time the craft are actually performing maintenance.  Waiting for a tag-out, parts, special equipment, etc., are not counted as Wrench Time.  After several very successful engagements, AF is confident that Wrench Time can be improved by a factor of 25-100%.  This equates to having that many more resources to do all of the important work without having to hire additional employees.  There are two primary objectives; (1) To increase the productivity of your craft and to optimize the amount of work that can be performed both during the normal production cycle and during planned and forced outages, and (2) To promote both accountability and confidence in your workforce.

Benefits.  One of our team members implemented MDATM at a major aircraft manufacturer with over 2500 maintenance craft.  The results were a 25-50% increase in craft productivity at 40 Customer Service Groups.  Recently, AF achieved an increase in productivity of 63% at a major building products plant.  Using our ARM approach, AF will assist you in identifying the right work to do.  Using MDATM, you will have the extra resources you need to be able to execute this work without hiring additional resources.  It’s a Win-Win for you and your team!
